WhoFrame is a photo frame and home dashboard for iPad and iPhone. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We do not collect, store or sell personal information. This page explains what the app reads on your device and the few times it talks to other services to do what you ask.
Photos
With your permission, WhoFrame reads the albums you choose in Photos, including iCloud Shared Albums, and any folders you pick in the Files app. Photos are shown on your device and are never uploaded by WhoFrame. The app looks at photos on the device to choose highlights and to find faces so the slow drift zooms toward them; that analysis stays on the device. Albums you create from a suggestion are saved in your own Photos library.
Location and weather
If you allow it, WhoFrame uses your approximate location, or a city you type, to show the weather. The location is sent to a weather service (Apple Weather, or Open-Meteo when Apple Weather is not available) only to get the forecast, and the last location is kept on the device.
Calendar and Reminders
If you allow it, the dashboard shows today's events and reminders from your device. They are read on the device and are not sent anywhere. Ticking off a reminder updates it in the Reminders app.
Voice
If you turn on listening, WhoFrame uses Apple's speech recognition to hear requests like “set a timer” while the app is on screen. Recognition happens on the device where supported; otherwise Apple processes it under Apple's privacy policy. WhoFrame does not record or keep audio.
Kitchen helper and questions
Questions and recipe text are answered on the device with Apple Intelligence where available. If you choose to add your own Google Gemini key, the question or recipe text you send goes to Google to be answered, under Google's terms. Without either, questions are not answered.
Music
Radio stations stream from their broadcasters, free recordings come from the Internet Archive, and station search uses the Radio Browser directory, which receives your search words and which station you play. Apple Music playlists play through Apple's Music app. YouTube Music opens Google's own website inside the app, under Google's terms.
Sharing and hearts
When you share a photo or tap a heart, WhoFrame opens Messages, Mail or the share sheet with the photo ready. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.
Tips
Tips are in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple. WhoFrame never sees your payment details.
Children
WhoFrame does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
